So, I intentionally wrote something akin to a technical manual, but it’s really sorta like a speculative flash-fiction. In the vein of George Saunders’ I Can Speak™, it tells the story of a fictitious product and informs the world in which it exists through a form other than a normal story. In Saunders’ work, it was done through epistolary, and in mine, it’s done as an owner’s manual. This was a fun experiment to both write in such a professional and technical way, while also trying to establish the kind of world where this product would fit into.
People only check the manual when they’re already knee-deep in trouble…
So if you’ve got some time, you can check out the dry delivery of a possibly magical world through the uCast® Σ Owner’s Manual. Hope you can find some enjoyment in it!
Until the next post, Keep Yourself Alive!
We did it bookworms! The fifth chapter of Blast Back is up now for your reading pleasure! God, it’s taken forever, and I hate myself that it has. So many unforeseen circumstances along with large gaps in being able to tackle the chapter in great length, but I’ve carved away at it all this time, so now it’s complete!
Hopefully, hopefully, after this final semester is over, I can get to a way more consistent schedule for getting out anything that I want to share, instead of the sparsity we’ve had to deal with for such a long time now. If you’re still around after all this time, thank you so much for your support, in whatever way you give it, and especially, thank you so much for your patience.
Until the next post, Keep Yourself Alive.
Oh what a glorious day! We’ve got some more short stories for you, bookworms. Three to be exact!
If you’re not at least this excited, I question your level of vitality
Well! Apparently finding a job and apartment were way more time-consuming than I would have ever wanted, but at least it’s done. In the meantime, I was finally able to finish the extra, behind-the-scenes Blast Back content for my Patreon supporters! It’s super easy (and cheap) to become one, and doing so will help me continue creating more stories for you lovely readers to eat up.
*PHEW* Finally finished the newest chapter of Blast Back, just in time for the start of summer vacation. hopefully I’ll be able to continue releasing these with a greater schedule over the summertime (fates willing), and we can make some real headway into the heart of the plot!
In related news, this chapter is also the first piece of content that is being put up in conjunction with Patreon! With this, I’ll be able to received support from all you lovely people, and offer exclusive content about the fiction I create! If you’re not a patron and would love to be, you can head over to my Patreon profile and look into what’s what.
Now, back to the grindstone, I’ve got more story to tell! Until the next post, Keep Yourself Alive!
Just a quick little update, the next chapter of Blast Back (Chapter IV) is nearly complete. I’ve finished the rough draft, and now it’s in the editing stages. I apologize immensely for the long wait, this first year in university has been full of work, and more often than not free time I acquired was put to use by just being content to do nothin’ at all. I was able to jot things down over the school year, but not until just recently was I able to finish it – although now I’m into the home stretch of the year, full of final papers to complete. Summer vacation will certainly be full of more activity for Blast Back, DmC -Stairway to Heaven-, and just good ol’ rantin’ on the blarg.
Thank you so much for your patience, and continued support.
You’re all awesome.
Let’s get this show back on the road, shall we?
Classes are all but done for now, time to get back into the thick of it.
