Oh what a glorious day! We’ve got some more short stories for you, bookworms. Three to be exact!
It’s been fun working on the common reward for Blast Back that Patreon supporters will have access to; a by-chapter, Ultimania-like design diary has been great for solidifying some ideas that otherwise seem like passing thoughts, and some slightly more in-depth looks at concepts might be up a few peoples’ alley. now that I have officially begun submitting things with Patreon, it’s been interesting, a new step into what I love doing. There was another round of Network Tests for Dark Souls II over the weekend. It was great that people were given the chance to help From Software test their new dedicated servers to make Dark Souls II’s online component much smoother. However, some sort of hiccup with Daylight Savings Time here in the West and a problem with the NA version patch needed to play during the three-hour test window, ended with North and South American testers unable to connect. They apologized profusely once they knew they were not going to be able to rectify the problem in time, and promised to reschedule for another time, with anyone who has the test client on their system privileged to play the next round of tests.
While it sucks that America didn’t get the chance to participate in the Network Test, it’s really appalling to see how some people have handled it. The amount of vitriol is staggering, and the comments are a poor example of a fanbase and gaming communities in general. The only leeway I can give on my impressions of how people handled this is because it was very late, and anyone without sleep is probably going to be cranky. Even I was a little irritated with it, but hey, I’m able to keep my cool and preoccupy my time…also by reading up on how annoyed other people are getting, and shaking my head at those who flew off the handle.
And here I thought I was simply waiting on the publisher to send me the updated galleys. Seems the files got lost in the email, as it were. Oh well, I send them again, make sure they get them, and then get back to playing Dark Souls, or fawning over Max Payne 3 and Dragon’s Dogma this month. Maybe a little of both. Still drawing as well, but trying to figure out what I can actually show without giving away something important. Man, I’m like a giant tease, aren’t I?
I’m also burning my midnight oil jotting down in-depth synopsiseseseseses for different stories. I get so enamored with one until I start writing in the other. I don’t quite know which one I want to write next! I need to figure it out soon though. Gotta have something else for you guys to read after Fiction Junction.
What, oh what, do I write about though? The modern fantasy action/adventure? The action thriller romance? The organized crime neo-noir? I just don’t know! They’re all so interesting to me, the possibilities are nigh-limitless! What do, readers, WHAT DO?
Speaking of addressing you, the reader, you can always feel free to comment and give feedback on anything here that allows comments. Open a dialogue if you want. Ask questions if you’re curious about something. If I can answer it, I’ll try.
On a side note, I’ve reached a small milestone in views for this here blarg, and I’d just like to thank everyone who has stopped by, and shown an interest in what I’m doing so far. Without you, I’d just be some guy talkin’ to a wall like a crazy person. I hope we can continue to take this ride together, and get some great stories out of it all.
Until the next post, Keep Yourself Alive!
